Charles, aged 17 is living at 60 Hunter Street in Middlesbrough with his family; father John b 1831, mother Hannah born 1832 and siblings Hannah b 1855, John b 1857, Sarah E b 1858, Mary A b 1861, Susan b 1863, Harriet b 1865. His father was born at Rawcliffe in Yorkshire, his mother was born in Selby, Yorkshire. All the other children, except Charles himself, were born in Hartlepool, Durham. Charles, the father, is a master mariner and Charles, the son is an apprentice mariner.
