Parish Register shows Elizabeth Peacock, spinster married John Leadler, bachelor, carpenter (ship's carpenter?) in Whitby. John Leadler was a witness to the marriage of James Leadler/Leadley/Laidler and Jane Donkin on 18 Jun 1827.
John Laidler was a master on a ship where George Peacock was the owner. There were 2-3 men on the ship - younger brother James Laidler?

Ref: National Archives Merchant Seamen: Registers of Service Born Whitby 31st May 1797. Height 5' 8", capacity - a mate. Sailor's ticket was issued at Sunderland 31st July 1850; Number 493952. First went to sea as a carpenter/sailor. Not in the Royal Navy or Foreign Service.
